Hundreds of ethnic Baduy Dalam and Baduy Luar are seen marching barefoot to the Banten governor’s office on Saturday, May 3. 2014. The Baduy, who eschew technology and contemporary society, left their homes on Thursday night and arrived on Saturday at the governor’s, where they paid their taxes in bananas, cassava, coconuts, sugar, taro and assorted vegetables as part of an annual ritual.
