Two of the four East Kalimantan orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus morio) released by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) to the Kehje Sewen Forest on Thursday 26/9 used to have had hepatitis B for years. Arman (22 years) and Randy (27 years) were detected suffering from Orangutan hepadnavirus, a hepatitis virus that attacks orangutans. The existence of a nesting and damaging liver virus was immediately discovered when Arman arrived in Samboja Lestari in August 1998. -JP / courtesy of BOSF / Adi / 19

Dua dari empat orangutan kalimantan timur (Pongo pygmaeus morio) yang dilepasliarkan Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) ke Hutan Kehje Sewen Kamis 26/9 dulunya penderita hepatitis B selama bertahun-tahun. Adalah Arman (22 tahun) dan Randy (27 tahun) yang terdeteksi menderita Orangutan hepadnavirus, virus hepatitis yang menyerang orangutan.
