Wholesale contract workers are sorting special quality coffee for export needs at PT Indokom Citra Persada, Sidoarjo Regency, Wednesday (9/14). Arabica and Robusta coffees from Toraja, Flores, Bali and Java will be packaged and delivered to meet the demand for coffee in the United States, Japan, Europe, Australia and Korea. Although demand continues to rise, Indonesia currently still lacks the supply of special quality coffee for export needs. Of the demand of around 5,000 - 8,000 tons of special coffee per year, currently only able to be met around 3,000 - 4,000 tons per year. Buruh kerja borongan tengah menyortir kopi berkualitas spesial untuk keperluan ekspor di PT Indokom Citra Persada, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, Rabu (14/9). Kopi-kopi arabika dan robusta dari Toraja, Flores, Bali dan Jawa kualitas spesial tersebut akan dikemas dan dikirim untuk memenuhi permintaan kopi di Amerika Serikat, Jepang, Eeropa, Australia dan Korea. Meskipun permintaan terus naik, namun Indonesia saat ini masih kekurangan suplai kopi berkualitas spesial untuk keperluan ekspor. Dari permintaan sekitar 5.000 - 8.000 ton kopi spesial per tahun, saat ini baru mampu dipenuhi sekitar 3.000 - 4.000 ton per tahun. Kesulitan memenuhi permintaan pasar kopi dunia ini lebih disebabkan tidak adanya konsistensi dari petani kopi Indonesia dalam menjaga mutu terbaik kopi yang mereka hasilkan. -JP/Wahyoe Boediwardhana/Adi/19
